MINISTRIES
How It Started
Pastor Eddie Davis, led by a vision from God and supported by his family and Saint Chapel COGIC, set out to build a new church in the Little Creek community of Nacogdoches, Texas. The Davis family was instrumental in this effort, but Pastor Davis passed away on November 16, 1968, before its completion. Pastor Amos Henderson and his family carried the vision forward, completing the church in September 1969 and renaming it Davis Memorial COGIC in honor of Pastor Davis. Under Pastor Henderson’s leadership, the church thrived, and in 1996, he was led to build a new sanctuary, completed in 1998. He served faithfully with his family for nearly 30 years until his passing in May 1997. Elder Tom Henderson served as interim pastor until July 1999, when Elder A.L. Shaw was appointed. A visionary leader, Pastor Shaw has elevated Davis Memorial to new spiritual and national heights.

Women's Ministry
Members of this department are led by First Lady Shaw and are committed to meeting the diverse needs of women in the church by providing encouragement, teaching and training. The members of this department serve to promote the vision of the Pastor and work to serve the women and equip them in becoming effective in their God appointed and anointed roles in the home and community.

YOUTH MINISTRY
The Youth Department provides a comprehensive spiritual, educational and social ministry for junior high and senior high youth. This includes classes, fellowships and other fun outings. It is our determined belief that the youth of our churches deserve their voices, gifts, talents and abilities be shared, exposed and developed.
Men's Ministry
The Men's Ministry ministers to men from all walks of life. Chief among its goals is to promote unity within the body of Christ and to teach all men how to become "Mighty Men of God". Being a man has its challenges and rewards . Come see how the Brotherhood is helping men, meet them and receive them.

Music Ministry
The Music Department at Davis Memorial Church is well known and appreciated. Our dynamic leaders, musicians and choir members deliver stirring and uplifting songs of praise unto the Lord Jesus Christ. The Music Department consists of the Mass Choir, Youth Choir, Praise Team, and Women's Choir.

Sunday School
Consistent application of the word of the Lord Jesus Christ is essential to maintenance of a solid Christian Foundation. The ministry of the Sunday School is designed to provides doctrinal and Christian education to all members of the church. The Sunday School Department of Davis Memorial Church works diligently to bring you a wide variety of Sunday School classes. Lessons are delivered on a course by course basis.
